A Boy and His Dog

This is Charlie, our foster dog.
Fostering was an epic fail for our family.
Charlie was our first and only foster dog.
He just kind of fit in our family.

We don't know Charlie's past because he was found in a park.
He has his good days and his bad days.
I suspect he wasn't treated the best by his previous owner.

He cowers. He has an aggressive streak.
He isn't a big fan of men, in general.
He makes me shake my head, read a hundred dog behavior articles, and feel like giving up on him.

But the dog isn't going anywhere.
He is too loved and spoiled by 'his' kids.

And he loves them right back.

I'm sure Charlie never had it so good.

  1. Your dog is so cute! We took in a dog that was going to be put to sleep if she didn't find a home and we just couldn't let that happen. She's been the best thing, and I can't imagine what life would be like without her!!

  2. That is so sweet that you were willing to foster a dog and too cute that you kept him. Two of my dogs were rescued from shelters. They've had tough parts of their lives (before us) and definitely challenge us, but at the end of the day they are family.

Charlie sure is adorable and lucky to have you.
