StitchFix May 2017

Some things are guaranteed in life. The sun will rise; the sun will set. Every year you will have a birthday. And for me, when the birthday comes there will always be a StitchFix box on the front porch :)

It's a little gift I started giving myself in 2014.
I've added the links for previous Birthday Fixes.

My favorite items I received this month made up this outfit here.

The yellow top is Daniel Rainn Wilkie Split Neck Top paired with
Kut from the Cloth Kate Distressed Boyfriend Jeans.
I am such a sucker for StitchFix denim! If you send it, I will buy!
My stylist finds the perfect fits for me. And I certainly appreciate it.
Is there anything worse than shopping for jeans?

#2 Papermoon Manresa Crew Neck Zip Up Top

I love the neon breezy tank top with the zipper front. I just wasn't wild about the print. I have something personal against chevrons. It is unwarranted and silly but I do.
The overall look was cute for summer.

#3 Daniell Rain Tanzelle Sleeve Blouse

The crochet detail is perfection.

I love the color and the front detail.

#4 Skies Are Blue Izora Lave Detail Knit Romper

I love the periwinkle blue and the crochet details on the shoulders.

Summer + Rompers = 💙

Overall, a fun birthday gift to receive this month! I always love adding new pieces to my wardrobe.

Stitch Fix October 2016

October is here. And we are all just a little bit happier. Why are pumpkins just the prettiest, most heartwarming sight to behold? One day I will live in a place where it is appropriate to drink fall-inspired hot beverages and wear sweaters/boot combos in October. That is my dream. Until then, the Marine Corps owns us and summer weather until Christmas it is!

My recent Stitchfix has me hoping for cooler temps soon. My October Fix was filled with 5 perfect fall items. What fun to try them on and pretend the season has changed :) I cannot wait to wear my new items (weather permitting). Fingers crossed the weather changes by Halloween. I currently have a trip booked to see the leaves at the end of the month. We should definitely be packing the sweaters and boots by then!

All the hoping and wishing isn't getting us any closer to seeing what my stylist, Leah, sent this month. Let's get to the fun stuff, shall we?

Loveappella Evie Drawstring Funnel Neck Sweatshirt

This was my obvious keeper of the box. I love the olive color and it look casual yet cute. I paired with my black leggings and new booties (which I love). I got 3 compliments in one day! It's been awhile since I've got complimented on my outfit. I guess people aren't wow'd by workout gear anymore!

Daniel Rainn Dalina Crochet Detail Knit Top

I love the color. Purple is my favorite. Unfortunately, something wasn't jiving between the mixed materials, detailing, and my body. The front was laying a little awkward.

But purple is still my favorite! And those booties :) And my favorite jeans from my Birthday StitchFix last year. DL 1961 jeans are the best!

Unpublished Kialla Denim Jacket

Cute jacket! I just wasn't sold it was for me. This is the one item I'm having doubts about whether I should have kept. I've been doubting myself a lot lately. White is just one of those colors I don't feel confident wearing.

Edyson Leon Corduroy Ankle Zip Skinny Jean

Keeper. Pictures say it all.

DV8 Jossie Two Tone Bootie

I am a big fan of this current trend of the berry/merlot/burgundy bootie. Sadly, this particular bootie wasn't working on my foot comfortably. For me, it was cutting across the ankle when I walked.

My two picks for my October StitchFix were the Loveappella Evie Drawstring Funnel Neck Sweatshirt and the Edyson Leon Corduroy Ankle Zip Skinny Jean.
Do you think I made the right choice? Or should I have kept more?

Stitchfix September 2016

September September, let's make up a song for September! Who doesn't love the change from August to September? The promise of all things pumpkin. A slight chance the weather might possibly consider getting one degree cooler. It's going to be fall, y'all! See, I can say that now because I live in the South!

I got my September Stitchfix and it looked a lot like Fall too. Long sleeves, jeans, and leather inspired purse among other fashionable items. This fix wasn't my favorite but that crossbody bag was!

Raga Emoni Cold Shoulder Blouse
I love the flowiness of this blouse and the color print wouldn't be something I'd normally try. I was hoping for a cold shoulder top this Fix because they are everywhere! Unfortunately, this wasn't quite what I had in mind. It didn't feel like me and it was a little too big.

Sequin detailing.

Octavia Brooks Crossbody Bag

Everything about this bag works for me! Love the color. Love the style. Love the quality! The only thing I don't love is my daughter has hijacked the purse already. Literally, the bag now belongs to her. I never had a chance!

Renee C Zalia Knit Dress

I love a floral print. My stylist knows I love a floral print. I also love dresses. This dress was the perfect marriage. A guaranteed hit! Sadly, I just wasn't feeling it. I thought the fit made me look pear shaped and the cinched waist accentuated my fluffy tummy. Insecure much? Looking at this picture, I don't feel that way at all. I kind of wish I would have kept it! The fabric was beyond comfortable and felt so light on my skin.

I also received Bay To Baubles Coco Crystal Bauble Collar Necklace and Just Black Aly Skinny Jeans which I wasn't skinny enough to fit into :( A total let down for myself but I'm working on not having that problem with my October Stitchfix with a lot of cardio and core exercises.

I love receiving StitchFix boxes. I'm always hopeful to receive some unique pieces that speak to me. Sometimes, the Fix is spot on and other times, I don't always love everything. I can't imagine how difficult it must be as a stylist for this company. I think there is an algorithm and a couple other ways they package for you. Ultimately, it really is hit or miss.

I was so happy with August's StitchFix  (probably one of my favorites next to June 2014). I received a lot of things I wouldn't typically pick out myself. Unfortunately, this month I didn't feel the pieces were quite what I was looking for or quite what my body was needing. It was fun to try on the clothes and I'm never deterred to try again.

Stitchfix August 2016

Deployment is overwhelming most days. Whether it's exhaustion, managing disasters, or just plain loneliness. All those things tend to pile up and overwhelm. I have never been great about giving me a break on deployment. I'm usually a head down and plow through until Homecoming kind of gal. Let me tell you, it is a terrible terrible idea. Do not do it! I made a personal goal this time to schedule monthly pampering moments to reward myself for getting through.

Stitch Fix may not be your typical self-care but it's a happy surprise that shows up on my doorstep. It does not require me to do anything but try on clothes and make a decision. Even if I don't keep anything, I get to be on the receiving end of someone else's effort. And that feels nice. Plus, it is one of the few days out of the month I get to receive some worthwhile mail!

I've been receiving StitchFix boxes off and on for almost three years. Early in my experience, I felt the Fixes missed the mark and gradually as I learned to communicate my style, the Fixes became spot on. Leah has been styling my Fixes for at least a year and she has been a perfect match. While she tries to incorporate some of my requests in each box, she also uses her expertise to choose pieces new to me.

Now for the drum roll....

Briton Ivy Cristen Shirt Dress
Speaking of new to me, I have never tried a shirt dress before. Pleasantly surprised!

Pixely Woodruff Tie Shoulder Chambray Top.
I asked for chambray and Leah delivered.

41Hawthorn Claremont Lace Up Detail Blouse.
I asked for blush.

Bay To Baubles Monroe Stacked Pave Pendant.
I really loved this necklace.

Loveappella Torie Knit Dress.
This dress was beyond comfortable. I feel like it was the perfect lightweight dress for this incredibly humid Southern weather.
I love the versatility as well. I could dress up or down.

That face, I know. These pictures are what my husband gets to see from afar.
I'm quite the seductress!

Stitchfix March 2016

So this what happens when you are on vacation and you think you've re-scheduled an incomplete post to happen the following week. It publishes anyways and you have no way to stop it unless you delete it all together. Which has crossed my mind.
But I figure what's done is done. So...

Happy Spring. This weather is screaming 'No More Winter" these days. Just in time comes the arrival of my March 2016 Stitchfix box. What a pleasant surprise! My stylist definitely "got me" this time around.

Stitchfix Fall 2015

Welcome to Love Letters To My Stylist, formerly known as a Stitch Fix Review ;) A much needed space for me to sing praises to my stylist who sends the best teal stamped boxes in the mail!
It's been hectic but I'm finally posting my September Stitchfix box.
I love the way my stylist chooses styles based on the things I've posted on my Pinterest board. I may not receive the exact item but most pieces incorporate something I have pinned.
For example, this month Leah sent me all jewel tones which my Pin board is filled with.
I love her attention to detail so so much!

Amour Vert Yvonne Dress in Teal Green
Beautiful but the wrong fit. I'm requesting a small this month!

I just received an email that my next box is getting ready to ship. So another Stitchfix post will be coming soon!
