Promotion Day

Look at this handsome Marine sporting one more rocker on the chevron! I couldn't wait to share these photos from my husband's promotion ceremony this morning. Literally walked in the door, loaded them on the computer, and started publishing them to all the social media outlets.

We are so excited over his promotion from Staff Sergeant to Gunnery Sergeant because of the time it took to get here. Eight years! Ridiculous. A big deal for my husband who always had his eye on Gunny as his goal before retirement. Overachiever, I know! Just kidding. For those not in the military, Gunny in 20 years is pretty standard. But he has always been a 20 years and I'm done kind of guy. Sergeant Major or Master Guns was never the plan. Given our time remaining, this will probably be his last promotion. We are really going to celebrate this one!
