Mom, are you pregnant?!?

Last week, I went to the health food store and bought Red Raspberry Leaf Tea. After I returned home, I placed the tea in the cupboard and went about my daily chores.

Fast forward to the next evening, my daughter randomly blurts out "Mom, are you pregnant?"
I'm a bit insulted. I have spent the last two weeks exercising daily. I thought I lost some weight too. I guess not. "No, why? Do I look pregnant?"

"No, but I found THIS." Duhn Duhn Duuuhnnn. She brings me the tea. Did I mention the tea supports Healthy Pregnancy? Well that is what the box says. I explain to my daughter I am not pregnant. She accepts my answer.

Earlier this week she bounds up the stairs with that cute little smirk of hers. That same smirk she has used since age 2. "Mom, are you pregnant?!?"
"No, why? Kyli your making me paranoid. Does this shirt make me look fat?"
"Then why did you buy diapers?" She taps her foot pointedly.

OMG...I'm giving my daughter a complex. Even with my explanation, I'm pretty sure the girl still thinks I'm pregnant. She is just waiting for the next "slip up".

I'm guessing you are wondering why I bought the diapers? It's innocent enough. My Bible Study group is making a donation to a women's shelter. Really!

I must sign off. I need to make a trip to the library to check out baby name books. Oh yeah, I'm going there. This is too much fun now. Did you think this was over? Noooooo...this is just getting started.

  3. Hi,
Stopping by from the Mommy Mixer. I love this post! Over the summer I catch a little girl telling my daughter she was going to be a big sister, needless to say I started exercising a bit more. ;-)

  4. heeh it sounds like someone wants a new baby around! My 3 year old asked me the other day if he could have a baby sister when he is 4. They are so funny! I also just read that your husband recently deployed- hang in there! I am a fellow military wife and understand how tough the first few weeks (ok, well all of it) are. Thanks to and your family for your service!
