Fall Favorite: Iced Pumpkin Cookies

It's September. The unofficial start of Fall and I've got pumpkins on the brain! This is my favorite Fall cookie by far. And because I do not live with like-minded pumpkin
lovers...these are all mine!

Ingredients

2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
1/2 tsp ground cloves
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 c. butter, softened
1 1/2 c. white sugar
1 c. canned pumpkin puree
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla extract

GLAZE

2 c. confectioners' sugar
3 Tbsp milk
1 Tbsp melted butter
1 tsp vanilla extract

Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and salt; set aside.

In a medium bowl, cream together the 1/2 cup of butter and white sugar. Add pumpkin, egg, and 1 teaspoon vanilla to butter mixture. Mix until creamy. Next, mix in dry ingredients. Spoon cookie dough on cookie sheet.

Bake for 15 to 20 minutes. Cool cookies, then drizzle glaze with spoon.

To Make Glaze: Combine confectioners' sugar, milk, 1 tablespoon melted butter, and 1
teaspoon vanilla. Add more milk as needed, to achieve consistency.

  1. Oh, my. These look so yummy! I can almost smell them. And I am thrilled to find a pumpkin cookie recipe that doesn't call for chocolate chips. Why does everyone ruin them with chocolate chips?

Can't wait to try them. Thank you so much for sharing your recipe. Happy Sharefest. Have a great weekend.
