Ice Skating in Sunny California

I am loving every minute of my two week hiatus from work. Otherwise known as winter break. The kids are off. The husband took a few days off. Gotta love those military benefits. 30 days of vacation per year. I could only wish.

We have tried our best to enjoy the free time together. My husband "owed" my daughter ice skating, this week he decided to repay the two-and-a-half year old debt. Old Town Temecula is the temporary site of an outdoor skating rink this holiday season. The weather might not be typical ice skating weather but the views can't be beat. Mountains as the backdrop. I took the role of photographer and left the skating to dad.

The kids loved it. The better half of our two hour session was spent on their bottoms or clinging to the wall. They never gave up. No complaints of sore bottoms, ankles, or blisters. A success in my book!

  1. I had no idea there was an outdoor rink in Temecula. That is awesome! I thought it was 75+ weather right now in so cal?

  2. What a fun time! I love those 30 days a year! After deployment, John has about 95 saved up, he plans on taking random days off throughout the year, which I'm pretty excited for.
