The kids excitedly reminded me of our need to check off Get Ice Cream from the Ice Cream Truck when the chime-y music started a mile away. All three came running from different directions, "Ice Cream Truck! Ice Cream Truck!" O-K, got it!
Our ice cream truck lady was incredibly sweet. Which totally makes sense, I mean she sells ice cream! I think she was a little curious of my need to document the purchase. Maybe next time I'll explain the whole blog thing. Oh by the way, there's a picture of you floating around on the web. Hope you don't mind?
It was a fun little break under the tree with our overpriced ice cream cones.
The kids loved it but poor little Charlie didn't like being left out.
He tried to make an emotional appeal...
Poor guy got nuthin'.
Maybe next time buddy!
I hope everyone enjoys these last weeks of summer. I can't wait for cooler weather and kids in school. Are you looking forward to Fall? Or are you a fan of Summer?
I am not a fan of Summer. I love the Fall and look foward to it. Aren't you amazed what they charge for ice cream from the truck?
ReplyDeleteI suppose they have to figure for gas. Isn't that why the price is high on everything? Or so "they" say!
DeleteWe have an icecream truck that runs by here everyday. Good thing they are cheap or I'd be broke. My 2 year old goes running every single time he hears the music :)
ReplyDeleteI love summer but I'm kinda ready for Fall too. It's been too hot this summer!
Angie, our ice cream truck isn't cheap. In fact, I'd be better off going to Dairy Queen or FroYo. But it was a treat so I had to turn my head and deal with it. I just checked my calendar today and fall officially begins in 1 month and some odd days. Yahoo!
DeleteI can't believe that summer is already almost over. And I was never allowed to buy stuff from the ice cream truck because it was so expensive!
ReplyDeleteAlyx, I don't think you missed out as a child. I could have bought three gallons of ice cream with the same money. That could be ice cream night for a month! Thanks for stopping by.
ReplyDeleteOhmygosh, I LOVE THAT DOG! And I think you've got me wanting to flag down the ice cream man!
ReplyDeleteLooks like fun! While we were in California our girls just thought the ice cream truck was just a music truck! :)
ReplyDeleteFound you on SITS today!

i'm giggling recalling another blog post i read where the mom confessed she had told her kids that the ice cream truck plays music when it is OUT of ice cream. :)
ReplyDeletelooks like they had a great time with their treats.
I think I'd be more tempted by that kind of ice cream truck - I love a good ice cream cone. I'll admit we often turn up the TV or music when we hear it coming, hoping that our kids won't hear it :)
ReplyDeletevisiting from SITS :)
Susan & Katie- Both are very good ways of avoiding the ice cream truck :) I do think my kids are too old to believe the music fib though. I can just see them canvassing the neighborhood to find out if that were true. Oh the backlash! Thanks for stopping by!
