Biking Coronado Island

Sometimes you need to drop everything and enjoy life. That is what we decided to do this weekend. I'm so fortunate that we live so close to San Diego. It really is one of my favorite places to spend time. The kids and I have always wanted to rent a surrey to ride along the beach. I thought it was about time to check that off our list. I'm proud to say we pedaled that beast around the perimeter of Coronado Island. It wasn't easy. It took us 2 hours. But I know we will never go to Coronado again without thinking of this day. That is all that matters.

He had to know that was going to happen, right?

Teaching Kyli the Rule of Three in photography. She rocked it!

We made it past the Hotel Del without pictures. I mean really if you've seen it once then you've seen in a million times. Pshh! Who wants to see that architectural masterpiece anyways? Oh but that sign! Never pass up the opportunity for a pic of the sign! *sad face*

In my opinion, Coronado's best feature is the neighborhood. The houses are so quaint and unique. I'm not sure if you can tell in this picture but the roof is not flat. It has a wave to it. It like a storybook cottage.  I want to live here!

  1. Coronado Island is one of my favorite places in the United States! When we visited there back in 2009, my husband and I were baffled as to why he would choose the Army over the Navy/Marines. Haha.

  4. Wow such beautiful pictures, I want to visit there! It looks like such a great day with your kids. And I love that house! I didn't notice the roof until you pointed it out...I wonder if I could talk my husband into doing that to our future house? Doubt it, but if I start on him now maybe he'll break by the time we settle down somewhere.

  5. You're the coolest mom ever! This looks like such a fun weekend and activity to do with the kiddos. Ryan works on Coronado and it never fails that I'm always in awe when I go there. We pass that cottage house to get to the back gate and I always point out how crazy that house is! Glad you had a great weekend :)

  7. How fun! I've always wanted to rent a surrey bike and ride! We talk about it every trip to the beach and haven't done it yet. Glad you all had such a fun time! That cottage is gorgeous, actually all the scenery is. I want to live there!
