South Coast Winery

South Riverside County is the place to be for military stationed in Southern California. The housing is affordable. The schools are great. The neighborhoods are filled with young families. My husband had been wanting to make the move since we got back to Camp Pendleton in 2011. I did not.

I tried my best to ward him off. However, the topic kept coming back to buying a house. In the Temecula area. There was no fight left in me. I caved. And we ended up with a house. A pretty house. But I miss base living. My safe little compound. I'm not one to wallow. I have to make the most of where we live. Plus it really isn't too bad out here. Hot as hell. Commercial as hell. But there is this one big plus...

The wineries.

Temecula is really making a name for itself in the wine business. The vineyards are gorgeous to drive through. The wineries are extravagant. The wine is tasty.

My husband and I had our first day date in our new town. He asked me to plan our date. He always does. I had four wine tastings left from my mom's birthday at South Coast Winery and a gift card to Macaroni Grill. A free date is better than a cheap one, right?

South Coast Winery is probably the best in town. My opinion, of course. And a limited one given I have never been to any other winery here. South Coast has great wine. Award winning wines. If that matters to you. It doesn't much to me. I like most anything award winning or Walmart special.

Now back to the winery. I snapped a few pictures...

Cheers!
