One Year Ago...

One year ago, my husband called me from Iowa to tell me his father passed away. We already knew something wasn't right and I had started my drive from California to Iowa. At that moment, I felt so helpless not being there to support and comfort my husband. After arrival, we spent the week with family trying to cope and sort out the aftermath of my father-in-law's passing. My husband stayed longer to be with his mother and help her to prepare for the months ahead. It was all an unexpected passing within four days things went from normal to gone.

I feel many people (including me) have this idea of how life is going to be or end. We expect there will be time to prepare for goodbye and re-adjust our priorities. It's a hard lesson to learn it doesn't always go that way. My advice:
Reach out to the special people in your life. Value them. Let them know it. You only get one chance to do life right.

  1. Yes! Never take time with loved ones for granted, time goes by far too quickly. I am so sorry for the loss.
