Holy Moly Book Haul

Books, books, and more books. I totally scored at our recent library book sale. My book buying experience is forever changed!  I asked myself, do people really want to see what books I bought for $1? Most likely not. And yet here is this post today. I bought 35 books for $40. I thought it was a deal, especially since some were 2017 releases.

First thing worth mentioning, I have never been to a library book sale.
I've been to a library book store where they sell used books.
I had no idea what to expect.

There must have been over 100,000 books in two large conference sized rooms.
I didn't know what to look for. I didn't have a list. I had one author in mind.
I was clearly a newbie.

I knew I wanted Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins in paperback. It's the book I don't have from the series. I got the hardcover to complete my collection.
Second on my mental wishlist, all of the Percy Jackson series for my son. He loves to re-read his favorite fantasy series.
Last, I thought this would be a good time to pick up a Tara Reid Jenkins book. I'm still trying to find a moment to read this popular author.  As popular as she is, I couldn't find one book in that whole sale.
Total bust!

Good news about the Percy Jackson books :)

Did I mention my daughter came along? This was her stack.
I don't know anything about these books.
I know World War Z from the movie.
Obviously, a zombie book, which is something I have yet to read.

These two books have been on my to-read list for a long time.
13 Reasons Why just came out on Netflix.
I like doing movie/book comparisons.
So, that will be on my reading list in the next couple of months.
The Absolutely True Diary of A Part-Time Indian is also a book I've been wanting to read for a long time. It's a middle grade book about a boy growing up on an Indian Reservation.
I love reading books about diverse population. It's so eye opening.

A List of Cages by Robin Roe was the jackpot find. We passed it up at Barnes and Noble a week earlier due to the hardcover price tag. And here is was for $2 at the book sale.
What are the chances?

What I'm Excited To Read:
Behind Her Eyes
Thirteen Reasons Why
Everything I Never Told You
A Light Between Oceans by M.L. Stedman
The Winter People

What would you recommend reading first?

  1. I'd start with Everything I Never Told You. I loved it.
I read 13 Reasons Why LONG AGO. Like 2010ish. I didn't like it, so I'm hesitant to try the show.

    What a haul!

  3. Seriously after you and Alexandra posted about your Library book sale, it makes me realize that I need to get myself to the next one that my library is having! You really got so many great books, and for such a great deal too! I loved World War Z, and just so you know it's nothing like the movie, and in my opinion it's 100 times better! I also love the Cassandra Clare novels as well, so I hope that your daughter likes it too!

  4. I LOVE library book sales - it looks like yours had some awesome titles. I don't normally get that many but they are fun to check out. I highly suggest Thirteen Reasons Why because I loved the book - I'm watching the show now. I also really love Sherman Alexie's book!
