Ipsy Glam Bag February 2016

Yesterday I posted my Ipsy Glam Bag from January 2016 HERE. I figured I might as well post February's Ipsy bag as well. Have you been introduced to Ipsy Glam Bags? This post is my second glam bag from February 2016. After two shipments, I am still excited about this subscription service and all the great products I have received. The price is right too! $10 (plus tax) for 5 makeup or beauty items matched to your preferences and profile.

The best part of Ipsy for me is having someone else find my makeup. I am out of my element when it comes to shopping for makeup. I tend to buy duds that don't work out. Honestly, $10 is not a big deal for the service I am receiving.  I highly recommend Ipsy. I have a referral link HERE if you would like to try. Referral links are more of a nicety than a necessity. I appreciate the gesture if you use my link. I'm none the wiser if you don't!

Another selling point for me is being able to divvy up the items with my daughter. We split the items in each glam bag.

#1 trestique Coral blush stick is my favorite in this delivery. I thought my face brightened up and possibly made me look more youthful?? I wish! But maybe.

#2 Elizabeth and James Nirvana for Her perfume. I love the scent. Light scent with a hint of vanilla.

#3 Cioccolato Foaming Body Scrub. Haven't taken the time to indulge but looks promising!

#4 The Balm Mary Lou Manizer eyeshadow (highlighter).

#5 Luxie 221 Flat Definer Brush. Again, I will have to do some investigating to figure out how to use this brush. Any ideas?

February 2016 theme was #ipsypink. Are you tempted yet? Are you already receiving Ipsy glam bags? I'd love to hear what you think or your experiences.

Ipsy Glam Bag January 2016

Welcome to my new addiction, Ipsy Glam Bag. Much like my StitchFix obsession, Ipsy subscription service delivers surprise goodies to my mailbox every month. However, Ipsy is much much more affordable! For only $10.80 per month I receive 5 makeup or beauty items matched to my preferences and profile.

After months of feeling kind of blah about my beauty routine, I decided to give Ipsy a try. Ipsy has been a pleasant surprise for me.  I am so out of my element when it comes to makeup/skincare/beauty items. A store like Sephora overwhelms me. I don't know the first place to start when I'm in the makeup aisles at Target. Plus, makeup is so darn expensive, $10 feels like a drop in the hat.  If you can relate, I have a referral link HERE. Referral links are more of a nicety than a necessity. I appreciate the gesture if you use my link. I'm none the wiser if you don't!

Now let us get to the fun stuff!!

Every month, Ipsy beauty items are put together in a cute little makeup bag. January 2016 bag looked like this. I love it!

All Ipsy subscriptions are not created equal. Each box is tailored to the individual. What you see here may not be what you receive in the same month. It just gives you a general idea.

#1 Pixi by Petra eyeshadow. I've seen this affordable brand in Target but never bought it. The price is extremely affordable. My review was not so great. My eyes are sensitive to eye makeup and what got into my eyes was very irritating.

#2 Ofra Eyebrow pencil. The color is universal. I haven't gotten a chance to use this product properly because my eyebrows are a hot mess. I can say the color is nice. The product goes on easily.

#3 The Balm Mr. Write (Now) in Scott. I love this product. The color is purple which is something I would never buy for myself but is a new favorite. I'm a big fan of the product already!

#4 Skone smudge brush. I have yet to Google what this brush is intended for. I used it to smudge my eyeliner and the brush worked like a charm! I'm a newbie so I can't help you with the details. You have to start somewhere!

#5 Skyn Iceland cleansing cloths. This product was not for me. It left a burning sensation on my skin after using. I'm not into that feeling with anything that goes on my skin.

So, what do you think? Not too bad for the price. And if you shop around, $10 is "a helluva deal" for 5 makeup items! I am by no means a beauty blogger or makeup guru. I'm just an average gal who needed a little change!

West Coast, Best Coast

"They" say the west coast is the best coast. The Pacific Ocean is better than the Atlantic. I'm not sure who "they" are but I really do like our ocean. As the days fall away on our departure calendar, our military family is trying to get in as much beach time as possible. Just in case, "they" know what they are talking about!

Idyllwild Snow

Sorry East Coasters--you probably won't find this post one bit amusing. Given you just got hammered by Winter Storn Jonas. However, in California we try our best to get our winter snow fix when we can.  You can try Disneyland in December or trek to the mountains for the day.  Our self contained winter escape from all this summery weather. Sorry, it's too easy to rub that in!

Idyllwild is one of our favorites. It's our escape from city life. In the winter, Idyllwild is our novelty snow play area. It feels like secluded retreat--which is free AND not so populated. I'm gonna miss this place!
